When does the 2016 college football season start?

2016 college football is here! The field actions full of passes, interceptions and touchdowns is just around the corner and thousand die hard fans are incredibly happy and excited for the comeback of NCAA football games. This is going to be an exciting and fun-filled football season for sure!

The 2016 college football season begins on Friday, August 26 with the regular season concluding December 10 and (excluding all-star games) capping on January 9, 2017 with the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

An exciting 2015 season in college football wrapped up with Alabama beating Clemson 45-40 in a classic championship game for its fourth title in seven years. The Crimson Tide begins their 2016 season at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas facing the Southern California. And that's only one of several huge opening-weekend games to kickoff the 2016 season.

The following Thursday (Sept. 1) will be the more traditional start to the season, with 16 games on the slate, including an conference game as South Carolina visits Vanderbilt. There are 11 more games on Friday, Sept. 2, including Kansas State vs. Stanford and the Colorado-Colorado State rivalry.
